In the early 1990s, we started to undertake the development of shock absorbers for sit-skis due to their similarity in shape to rear cushion units for motorcycles.

As an official sponsor/supplier of the NPO Japan Para-Ski Federation's Alpine Skiing National Team, we engage in product development and technological support for sports equipment used by the Japanese team's alpine skiers.

Also, we also hold lectures based on our own experiences at elementary, junior high, and senior high schools as well as welfare facilities and other places, and focus on activities aimed at creating a society which recognizes diversity.

Contributing to the community through the JLPGA Legends Tour

In support of the objectives of the Senior Tour organized by the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Japan (JLPGA), we have been hosting the “Kayaba Legends Open” annually since 2024.
Through this tournament, we will continue to contribute to the local area, including our hometown of Kani City, Gifu Prefecture.

For the second consecutive year, the KYB Museum participated in Science Kanagawa, a science promotion initiative led by Kanagawa Prefecture. The program welcomed elementary school students (4th to 6th grade) and offered engaging opportunities to learn about the principles behind Pascal's law, tribology, and other scientific concepts. After building a hydraulic excavator using syringes, participants also enjoyed operating a 2‑ton mini‑excavator and observing nanoscale diatomaceous earth with an electron microscope--creating a memorable summer experience. In addition, for the first time this fiscal year, we hosted a program for junior high and high school students, featuring hands-on activities such as measuring damping force and assembling shock absorbers.

Support for disaster victims

The KYB Group is actively involved in supporting disaster victims around the world.
In October 2024, the Valencia region of Spain was hit by unprecedented heavy rainfall, causing large-scale flooding. The three subsidiaries in Spain quickly raised funds. In addition, employees of these subsidiaries engaged in various volunteer activities in the affected areas, such as cleaning and tidying up, and distributing medicines and food to the victims. The company also provided its vehicles for use.
