Shock Absorbers (SA)

Shock absorbers are products mounted between the body frame and tires along with springs to absorb vibrations from the frame. The springs expand and contract to absorb the shock from road surface irregularities. The shock absorber restricts vibrations when the compressed spring returns to its original state. Shocks provide a comfortable ride and greater steering stability.

Hydraulic Rebound stop shock absorbers

It is equipped with a mechanism that uses hydraulic force to reduce the shock caused when riding over bumps. It reduces uncomfortable shock, lowers impact noise, and provides smooth, comfortable ride quality even on rough road conditions.

Adjustable damping shock absorbers with proportional solenoid

This damping force adjustable shock absorber is equipped with a world's first proportional solenoid device (jointly developed with Takako Industries, Inc.) that improves the damping force adjustment components. It delivers extremely silent performance, the world's highest class ride quality, as well as stability and controllability.

Prosmooth: Shock Absorbers with Improved Sliding Properties

Friction is reduced by using newly developed materials for sliding parts. This product delivers both a luxurious ride and superb cornering.

Swing Valve: Ultra-low Velocity Valve

This shock absorber is equipped with a high-performance valve that generates damping force at extremely low operation speeds. It provides a high level of both stable handling and smooth ride feel.

Frequency sensitive shock absorbers:HARMOFREQ

Automatically changes damping force in response to the frequency of road vibrations traveling through the car body for remarkable increases in ride comfort.

Steering System for Steer‑by‑Wire

This steering system consists of a dual‑motor steering actuator designed with redundancy for steering control, a reaction motor unit coaxially mounted on the column shaft to provide steering‑wheel feedback corresponding to road loads, and an ECU that controls these three motors.

Electric Power Steering (EPS) for Vehicles

At HKE, our joint venture in China that supplies automotive EPS, we offer all types of electric power steering systems—column‑assist, pinion‑assist, and rack‑assist. The electrical and electronic systems comply with the functional safety standard ISO 26262, and we are also advancing the introduction of redundant specifications to support autonomous driving.

Column-assist EPS for Off-road Vehicles

This EPS unit can be installed on off‑road vehicles such as ATVs (All‑Terrain Vehicles) and ROVs (Recreational Off‑highway Vehicles). It uses an in‑house–developed integrated motor‑and‑ECU brushless motor, enabling support for high‑output applications. The system is also used in construction and agricultural machinery, and can accommodate autonomous driving and remote steering functions.

An abbreviation of Electronic Control Unit. Optimal operation is determined based on information from sensors, and commands are sent to each component.
