Respect for human rights
In March 2025, we formulated the Basic Policy on Human Rights with the aim of conducting business activities with respect for human rights in our group and its supply chain, thereby contributing to strengthening ESG management and maintaining social trust. In order to continue to be a company that is needed and trusted by society, we respect human rights as the foundation of our business.
Basic Policy on Human Rights
Preamble
The KYB Group conducts business activities under its management philosophy, “By serving technologies and products that make people’s life safe and comfortable, KYB group dedicates to the society;” and aims to be a company that is needed and trusted by society.
As part of our corporate social responsibility, we have established the “KYB Group Basic Policy on Human Rights” (hereinafter referred to as “Policy”) and will implement initiatives for the respect of human rights to carry out business activities considerate of respect for human rights.The Policy is positioned at the top of all regulations related to human rights within the KYB Group.
1.Commitment to respect for human rights
The KYB Group respects internationally recognized human rights (the prohibition of forced labor and child labor, freedom of association, the elimination of discrimination, etc.) established in instruments such as the “International Bill of Human Rights” and the “ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work,” and implements initiatives for the respect of human rights based on the UN’s “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.”
The KYB Group complies with the laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which it carries out corporate activities. If national or regional laws and regulations differ from internationally recognized human rights, we will pursue methods that maximize respect for internationally recognized human rights.
2.Scope of application
This Policy applies to everybody who works at the KYB Group.
In addition, we also expect all stakeholders, including business partners related to the KYB Group’s products and services, to understand and support this Policy.
3.Human rights due diligence
The KYB Group will build the necessary human rights due diligence mechanisms and implement them continuously based on this Policy. We will also seek cooperation from business partners.
4.Remedies and correction
If it becomes clear that business activities have caused or contributed to a negative impact on human rights, the KYB Group will work on remedies and correction through appropriate procedures. We will maintain a contact point accessible to everybody whose human rights have or may have been impacted negatively by the KYB Group’s business activities. The KYB Group will protect people who seek consultation so that they are not treated unfairly.
5.Education
The KYB Group will work on continuous awareness-raising efforts and implement training and education on the themes of human rights and harassment to ensure that each and every officer and employee understands and practices this Policy correctly.
6.Information disclosure
The KYB Group will monitor the state of compliance with this Policy continuously and disclose information appropriately on initiatives to disseminate this Policy and their progress through the company’s website, integrated reports, etc.
7.Dialogue with stakeholders
The KYB Group will engage in dialogue and discussions with related stakeholders as required to identify and deal appropriately with negative impacts on human rights.
